Chrystina Jimenez

Chrystina (she/her/ella) is originally from the South, having lived mostly in Jacksonville, FL and Nashville, TN. She moved to Colorado in 2022 to pursue her PsyD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Denver, where she is specializing in Military Psychology. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies at the University of Tennessee (UT) in 2017. She has also earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021, also at UT, with a specialized certification in Grief, Loss, and Trauma.

Chrystina has worked in a variety of mental health settings and with clients from diverse backgrounds. Her clinical experience includes college counseling, career counseling, inpatient substance use treatment, recovery treatment court, veterans treatment court, crisis line work, and correctional work with incarcerated individuals. At present, she works with military service members, veterans, and their families providing therapy and assessment.

Chrystina works from a relational-cultural approach. She believes in supporting clients to understand and explore the ways in which societal factors and life experiences affect their sense of self and their relationships. She strives to help clients empower themselves to achieve their goals and advocates for them in any way she can. Chrystina has been described as audacious, curious, nonjudgemental, and empathic. Her style is direct, supportive, explorative, and humorous (at times). She is not one to beat around the bush or shy away from challenging clients to step out of their comfort zones.

When she’s not wearing her professional hat, Chrystina is an introverted homebody who enjoys a good game night and nerding out with her friends on miscellaneous topics. She loves TV and movies, outer space, traveling, and trying new cuisines. Most importantly, she is in love with being a Titi to her wonderful nieces and nephews!
